The indoor swimming pool at the Henderson Mulitgenerational Center will be closed for repairs until March 31.
The city closed the pool March 13 to repair the surface of the observation deck and replace the tile in the locker room. No work will be done on the pool itself.
Henderson Parks and Recreation spokeswoman Kim Becker said the work is routine maintenance for the pool, which opened in 2003.
“Because (the tile) is older now, it needs to be replaced and it can’t get wet during the process,” Becker said.
The Multigenerational Center’s outdoor competition pool will remain open while the indoor pool area undergoes repairs.
Becker said the city is doing the work now so that the pool is ready for use when swimming season begins in earnest.
