FLASHPOINT:

Good week of work for Horsford

If you are looking for the big winner after the room tax debacle in Carson City this week, the answer is clear: Senate Majority Leader Steven Horsford. After two days of debate, Horsford came under fire from two sides. After he called The Man Formerly Known as Governor a coward for not signing the bill, Ø returned fire and said Horsford couldn’t wait to raise taxes. Then, Horsford was the subject of a broadside from the head of the teachers union because of some of his floor remarks, with Lynn Warne casting part of the blame on the majority leader for the sorry state of public education. Attacked by the man inhabiting the state’s highest office and a core constituency of your own party? Not a bad week’s work.
