NDOT list gives greater share to Clark County

The latest Nevada Department of Transportation plan would give Clark County 54 percent of the money going to the state from the federal economic stimulus bill.
The amount is still below Clark County's per-capita share, but more than an earlier version.
That version showed Clark County would get just $19 million of $140 million that the Nevada Department of Transportation has in discretionary funding. The latest list for the discretionary spending by the state allocates $68 million for Clark County.
On top of that, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act allocated about $40 million for Clark County.
The latest list can be found at Jon Ralston's blog here.
NDOT spokesman Scott Magruder said the list wasn't final, but he "wouldn't be surprised" if a similar list was taken before the Department's board of director's next week during a special meeting on the stimulus.
The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada had expressed concern about the earlier list. Spokeswoman Tracy Bower said of the newest list, "This is much more in line with the conversations we had with NDOT, and we're pleased to see that."
