Letter to the editor:
Right wing shows flaws in its thinking
Tuesday, March 3, 2009 | 2:05 a.m.
If ever anyone needed proof that the Republican Party’s right wing has flawed thinking, it can be made no more clear than by the right wing’s supporting Rush Limbaugh. Rush has made it clear that he would gladly see America sacrificed to prove his political point.
That any sane person would say he would rather see our president fail, knowing it probably would mean the total collapse of our economic system and long-term suffering by a majority of Americans, is really sad.
If any Democrat had said such a thing during George W. Bush’s presidency, he would have been branded a traitor.

This letter is pure BS!
I am not a Rush Limbaugh fan. I do not listen to his show. But I did here him speak last week at the Republican PAC meeting. He explained clearly what he meant when he said he wanted Obama to fail. The new President is depleting the will, incentives, and values that have led to the American spirit of initiative, risk taking and monetary reward for achivement. This he is doing by promoting class warfare, increasing the taxation on those who have created opportunity and wealth in this nation. Obama has promoted a "rich" vs. "poor" culture, and defined "rich" at the 250K level in income. Obama would derail and burder those who have committed their blood, sweat, tears and treasure to creation and innovation in this country. This is wrong. It is in this plan that Limbaugh wants Obama to fail. He is not alone!
And to even hint that the Democrats, the liberals, did not openly hope for the failure of Geroge Bush and his policies is ludicrous. That's all the liberals wished for. Harry Reid even declared the Iraq war to be "lost". The liberals whined and moaned over Bush policies involving counter intelligence and enemy combatant detention and interrogation.
To expect the Republicans to stand by and allow this country to sink into the pit of socialism, to see private property rights not upheld, to witness unprecedented welfare spending, to allow taxes to be increased on those who should be rewarded, not punished, believe me , that will never happen.
"If any Democrat had said such a thing during George W. Bush's presidency, he would have been branded a traitor."
So are you calling Harry Reid a traitor for he said we lost the war in Iraq a couple of years ago?
The hope is not that the ideas espoused by Obama will fail (which they must), but that they will fail quickly so we can move on to a correct solution while it is still possible.
This is not meant to imply that Bush43 had it right, he didn't. But he was not a conservative, either.
My goodness. Three letters about Rush Limbaugh? Why are liberals so concerned about it? If all that they say about him is true(which it's not) then you have the next few elections in the bag. He has made it very clear that it is Obama's ideas that he hopes fails. I know what the sound bites are, but taken out of context it looses it's meaning. I know the country is going through a radical change but the last that I heard, freedom of speech is still protected. Let him have his say, no one is talking about making NBC, CNN, MSNBC, the NY Times and others give conservatives equal time.
I agree this country is going through a radical change.
I want the first change to teach people the difference between "loose" and "lose".......
Lush Bimbo is a pill poppin' idiot and it doesn't surprise me that he would sit back and hope all efforts to revive the economy and save this country from financial devastation fail just so he can be 'right'. Again, he's an idiot plain and simple. Just another Republ. with his holier than thou moral attitude who just happens to break the laws as he sees fit when it comes to illegal prescription drugs. He should have faced the music "taken responsibility" for his actions the was all good republ. espouse.
