Mike Meehan’s comments in his Saturday letter to the editor on why we should convert to the metric system are all true.
However, we Americans tried to convert in the 1980s and the majority resisted change (I don’t think President Barack Obama wants that change.) There were billboards all over the country with the words “Think Metric” along with information such as 1 liter equals 33.6 ounces.
But most Americans were in agreement: If God believed in metric, He would have created the world in 6.2 days. Sad but true: Most shun change.
