Joy Rineer, AIA, is an architect and project manager at Pugsley. Simpson. Coulter. Architects. Having worked in Salt Lake City, Santa Barbara, Calif., and Las Vegas, Rineer has had the opportunity to work with a variety of building conditions and project types including mixed-use, educational, commercial, and retail. Her master’s thesis in San Francisco explored the relationships between music, architecture, and the individual. This research gave Rineer a sense for spatial environment as it relates to individuals and how they work together. She regularly incorporates sustainable elements in her designs which not only contribute to the environment but also to the well-being of the end users. Rineer has received several awards and most recently was named one of In Business Las Vegas’ “40 Under 40”. As an active participant in various charities in the community, one of Rineer’s community service highlights includes being selected to participate in a professional exchange program through Rotary International in 2002 during which she had the opportunity to travel to Korea with four other individuals. Rineer is a licensed architect in Nevada and also holds the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards certification. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture from The University of Utah.
