Not working can be a drag, so Joan Rivers tribute artist Frank Marino is pulling out the sequined gowns, blond wigs and high heels and heading for a stage in Anthem, 20 miles from where he performed for 24 years on the Strip in “La Cage.”
Marino will lead a cast of female impersonators in “Diva Las Vegas,” performing at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.
The show takes place at the 300-seat Freedom Hall theater, 2460 Hampton Road in Anthem.
Tickets are $25 at the door and $20 in advance. For information, call 614-5865.
Marino also will lead the “Diva” cast in a free performance at 3 p.m. Saturday at the West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd.
Most recently, Marino was a celebrity guest for “Tony & Tina’s Wedding” at Planet Hollywood.
“La Cage” ended its long run at the Riviera in February. Marino says he plans to produce his own revue, but this “Diva” production isn’t it.
“This is just a chance for us to get together.”
