CARSON CITY – Gov. Jim Gibbons has chosen a veteran state worker to be his new chief of staff, filling one of the three vacant positions in his office.

Robin Reedy, who is deputy director in the state Department of Business and Industry, will take over Monday as the new chief of staff, succeeding Josh Hicks, who resigned.

She will be the third chief of staff for Gibbons in his 2 1/2 years in office.

Reedy, who lives in Gardnerville, said she will work to advance Gibbons’ efforts to diversify the economy and to attract more tourists.

She has a bachelor's of science degree in business administration from California State University-Chico.

Christopher Nielsen, legal counsel to the governor has also resigned. So has Kelly Chouinard, an assistant to the legal counsel and chief of staff.
