Henry "Hank" Garrity died July 6 in Las Vegas.
He was born in 1932 in Lowell, Mass., and was a distinguished high school athlete in both basketball and football at Lowell High School.
After graduation, he joined the Air Force and retired after 20 years, serving in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Following his military career, he served on the Worcester County Sheriffs Department for 17 years.
He became a successful coach at Holy Name Central Catholic High School in football, basketball and track.
He and his wife, Patricia, moved to the Las Vegas area in 1989 and worked with their children to build the trade show and event planning businesses Performance Plus, Heritage and MC2.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Patricia; children Michael, Bonnie and Shawn and his wife Tiffany; stepson Karl Stingliy; and 13 grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m., July 10, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that an act of kindness be done for others.
