Armed man sought in business robbery

A suspect in the robbery of a store at the 2800 block of Maryland Parkway.

Metro Police are searching for a man who robbed a store at 11:38 a.m. Wednesday in the 2800 block of Maryland Parkway.

The man demanded money from the clerk, asking her to put it into a plastic bag. The man was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.

Police said the clerk put an undisclosed amount of money into the bag, then the suspect ran north from the business. Authorities weren't identifying the business.

The robber was described as black, between 20 and 25 years old, 5-feet-6 to 5-feet-7 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white long-sleeved T-shirt, black pants and a white hat with ear flaps and a tie string.
