Ex-Harrah’s CEO named to IGT board of directors

International Game Technology announced today that its board of directors has appointed former Harrah’s chairman and chief executive officer Phil Satre to its board.

Satre is currently the chairman of NV Energy and is a board member at Nordstrom Inc., Rite Aid Corporation, the National Center for Responsible Gaming and Nevada Cancer Institute. He is also a trustee of Stanford University.

Satre formerly was a member of the Harrah’s board of directors before retiring in 2005 and served as the company’s CEO for 10 years during his 25-year career with Harrah’s.

"To add a director of Phil's caliber, who brings valuable related gaming industry knowledge as well as broad business and board service experience, is a great plus for our company," TJ Matthews, IGT chairman and CEO, said in a statement.
