HOA ombudsman to meet the public

The Nevada Real Estate Division will host a "Meet the Ombudsman" event intended to help homeowners association residents learn how to effectively run their HOA.

Ombudsman Lindsay Waite and Education Officer Nick Haley will provide information on state and local services. Residents can learn more about how to conduct the business of an HOA and to ask general questions.

The next event will take place at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 28 at the Henderson Multigenerational Center, 205 S. Green Valley Parkway. Another meeting will take place March 23 at 11 a.m. at Centennial Hills Library, 6711 N. Buffalo Drive.

Discount tax help benefits the needy

Soles4Souls, an international charity providing free footwear to those in need, has partnered with Liberty Tax Services.

Customers can use coupons to receive a $20 discount on their 2008 tax services and Liberty Tax will donate an additional $20 to Soles4Souls for each coupon used.

In addition, at participating locations, customers will be able to donate their "gently worn" pairs of shoes. Visit GiveShoes.org to find participating locations.

Series to cover tough business topic

The RoadMAP to Success, a business education series, will present "Hiring, Firing and Everything in Between" 3-5 p.m. March 3 at the Henderson Business Resource Center, 112 Water St., Suite 100, near Pacific Avenue.

Randy McCrillis, president and owner of Elements Consulting, will discuss the processes and formalities of hiring, firing and working with employees.

Women invited to Day of Prayer event

Church Women United will meet at 9:30 a.m. March 6 for a special World Day of Prayer worship service at University United Methodist Church, 4412 S. Maryland Parkway.

Synagogue planning group trip to Israel

Congregation Ner Tamid and Rabbi Sanford Akselrad are planning a trip to Israel this summer and all are invited.

The organized trip will visit Tel Aviv, Haifa, Mount Carmel, Jerusalem, the Western Wall and more.

Chamber of Commerce mixer planned

The Henderson Chamber of Commerce will host its next monthly mixer 5-7 p.m. March 26 at Congregaton Ner Tamid, 55 N. Valle Verde Drive.

The monthly event gives chamber members the chance to network and meet one another.

CSN to hold job fair

The College of Southern Nevada will host its Spring 2009 Job Fair 10 a.m.-1 p.m. March 31 at its Cheyenne Campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave.

The event is open to the public, and more than 50 employers are expected to attend. Planet Hollywood Resort, Allegiant Air, Clark County Human Resources, Johnson Controls, UPS, Nevada Department of Corrections and Univision are some of the companies expected to take job applications and conduct interviews.
