Party at Jason Giambi’s place

When Vanity opens on New Year’s Eve partiers can expect to be treated to a lot of services they might not be used to: a female pit crew doing makeup, hair and nail touch-ups in the ladies room, a welcome punch bowl upon a bottle patron’s arrival.

But Vegas has never seen anything quite like what co-owner Jason Giambi is offering his VIPs.

One glance at the Vanity bottle menu and the eye is instantly drawn to the most expensive item available: a Jeroboam (three-liter bottle) of 1995 Dom Perignon White Gold Champagne for $100,000. This, some smaller print reveals, is accompanied by “A Vanity Affair.” The increasingly rare bottle is probably worth about $50,000, a source at Vanity says.

So where’s the other $50K going?

For purchasing the club’s marquee bottle of bubbly, Vanity will throw in a three night stay for 18 — do you even have that many truly close friends? — at Giambi’s nine bedroom, 20,000 square-foot mansion in Cabo San Lucas. The Weekly now takes license to assume that this is pending a complete background check of the winner and his or her 17 cronies.

We’ve also learned that Giambi has purchased a 6,000-to-7,000 square-foot suite within the original tower at the Hard Rock. Giambi is a partner in the Nightlife Group at the Hard Rock, which operates multiple venues at the property, including Vanity Nightclub, the Rehab Pool (reopening April 18 for season 7), Rare 120 in conjunction with the Dolce Group and, coming soon, Johnny Smalls restaurant (yes that’s a small hand-rolled joint; March), Sky Bar at the Beach Club hotel pool (April), and Afterlife afterhours club, formerly Body English (May or June).

Giambi’s new palace is said to include a master bedroom, living room, dining room and two guest bedrooms. A five-time American League All-Star and free agent who most recently played for the Colorado Rockies, Giambi lives in Las Vegas during the off-season and is expected to be working with the Nightlife Group to trick out his new pad until 2010 spring training starts.
