Police have suspect in woman’s death

Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009 | 6:48 p.m.

A woman found dead in the garage of her home last week has been identified as 44-year-old Ginger Candela of Las Vegas, and Metro Police say they have a suspect in the case.

Candela, who had been reported missing, was found dead by police shortly after 1 p.m. on Nov. 30 in the garage of her home in the 3100 block of Westfield Street, Metro Police said.

Police said they have a suspect in the case, a 34-year-old man who has been taken into custody in California. But no arrests have been made. The suspect and Candela recently had met, police said.

Police said the suspect has been involved with spiritual healing and motivational speaking. He might have befriended women in that way and possibly defrauded them without their knowledge, police said.

Anyone who might have information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Metro Homicide Section at (702) 828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
