Laughlin man accused in wife’s fatal shooting

Metro Police have arrested a Laughlin man accused of shooting his wife in the head Sunday afternoon.

At about 3:30 p.m., police received a call from Walter Freshman, 50, who told authorities he accidentally shot his wife. When police arrived in the 1800 block of Oasis Court, they discovered a woman who had been shot in the head.

The woman was identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office as 57-year-old Kristine Freshman, of Laughlin.

Walter Freshman was taken into custody on one count of murder with a deadly weapon. He is being held at the Tucker Holding Facility in Laughlin.
