Jon Gosselin was at Wet Republic on Saturday but the “Jon and Kate Plus 8” patriarch failed to make much of a splash.
The aspiring fashion designer was an odd fit as host for the usually stylish adults-only pool.
The embattled father figure stood out like a sore thumb amid a list of otherwise hot and sexy starlets who recently hosted the pool party, including Stacy Keibler and sisters Klohe and Kourtney Kardashian.
Wet Republic wasted no time in restoring its star appeal, however, and had “90210” starlet AnnaLynne McCord pick things up where Gosselin left off the following day.
When McCord hosted Daylife Sundays at the pool she added to the young Hollywood appeal and had her former “90210” costar, “Twilight” heart throb Kellan Lutz, pay her a poolside visit.
In contrast, Gosselin brought no Hollywood hotties with him on Saturday – and neither of his rumored girlfriends joined him, either.
Since splitting from wife Kate, Gosselin has been to Southampton with former Star magazine reporter Kate Major and vacationed in both the French Riviera at St. Tropez with Hailey Glassman.
Yet Major and Glassman were nowhere to be seen yesterday, and Gosselin said brought his mother to Vegas instead.
“I took my beautiful mother,” he said. “I wanted always to bring her to Vegas.”
“We’re going to ‘KA,’ we’re gong to do some other stuff at MGM and just enjoy the day,” he said when asked about his plans.
“It sounds like we’ll have a good time and it looks like we’ll have a good time,” he said.
The mother and son duo took in a performance of the Cirque du Soleil show later that night.
Dressed in a striped, long-sleeved shirt, khaki shorts and flip-flops, Gosselin posed for photographers on the red carpet, by the pool while surrounded by bikini-clad women, and on the daybed of his VIP cabana.
In between shots, he responded to questions his sextuplets’, Alexis, Collin, Leah, Hannah, Aaden and Joel’s, first day of school.
Gosselin acknowledged he wasn’t there for the landmark occasion but said he talked to the kids afterward.
“They called me and they said it was good,” he said.
He also shared that the children told him “they were excited” because it was their “first time on a bus.”
The comments were made to a MGM Grand house videographer; Gosselin refused to speak to the press.
