Del Sol, which has played in the late three Sunrise Regional title games, won its opener — a 35-12 victory against host Valley.
Dezeric Reed had more than 200 yards rushing for the Dragons, highlighted by a 44-yard touchdown run in the second quarter as the Dragons built a 27-12 lead by halftime. They were strong defensively in the second half in holding Valley scoreless the final two quarters.
Sophomore Chris Marshall added a 1-yard scoring strike and 70 yards rushing for Del Sol.
