Clark County’s local government leaders appeared on a panel Thursday morning, and their responses to when stimulus money will arrive and how much they will get should frighten residents. Their collective answer, based on news reports: We have no idea when it is coming, how we get it and how much it will be. Mayors Oscar Goodman, Shari Buck and Andy Hafen, along with Clark County Commission Chairman Rory Reid, highlighted how confusing and arcane the federal government’s delivery of the billions in stimulus money actually is by essentially throwing up their hands and saying they were out of the loop. Some seemed not even to know if the money had to flow through Carson City before getting to them. Good to know.
