Letter to the editor:

A better system needs more providers

Current plans for health care reform will not reform health care. Every human requires medical care on a periodic basis, so why should that care be expensive and difficult to obtain?

True health care reform should include the introduction of medical science curriculums in public schools, starting with first graders learning basic health and advancing through biology and chemistry by graduation.

True health care reform should include government-paid tuition to medical school for all who qualify in exchange for service in urban or rural hospitals, inner-city clinics, or where they are needed most. True health care reform should not be about who pays for the terrible system we have now; it should be about properly training as many people as possible in medicine so that medical care is inexpensive and easy to obtain.
