Next week’s looming Labor Day holiday signifies the unofficial end to summer. Though it will remain summery here for some time, we want to bid adieu to that season with a classic porch-sipper, an ode to those icons of summer picnics and barbecues, lemonade and watermelon. Whip up a whole pitcherful, quick, before the pool parties come to an end!
Ingredients:
1 oz. kiwi syrup
1.5 oz. your choice of vodka
3 oz. lemonade
1.5 oz. fresh watermelon juice
Method:
The drink is layered to resemble a watermelon. In a large glass of ice, start with the kiwi syrup, then gently add the lemonade, vodka and finally the watermelon juice. To soften the ingredients’ impact on one another, slowly pour each ingredient onto the back of a bar spoon.
