Webster’s Dictionary defines the word “option” as a choice; a right to choose or elect.
Why do Republicans have so much difficulty understanding the meaning of this word? They keep shouting at town-hall meetings that they don’t want the public option shoved down their throats.
President Barack Obama keeps saying over and over that if they like their health plans, they can keep them.
If, as they say, 80 percent of Americans are happy with their health plans, only 20 percent or less will choose the public option. If Republicans truly believe in free choice, they should let other Americans choose the public option if that is their only means of obtaining health care.
