I agree wholeheartedly with Joseph Schillmoeller’s health care suggestions as outlined in his Thursday letter to the editor in the Las Vegas Sun headlined, “Overhaul of system could be reckless.”
To those suggestions I would add allowing full deductibility of medical expenses on our taxes. For that matter, allowing a tax deduction for credit-card interest might go a long way toward solving the financial crisis.
Does anyone remember when these and many other deductions were allowed?
Perhaps Mr. Schillmoeller and I and other like-minded citizens should form a panel to recommend sensible solutions to the country’s health care problems. We certainly couldn’t do worse than what I’ve seen so far.
