FLASHPOINT:

More self-assured Titus clarifies her position on health care overhaul

Dina Titus was on “Face to Face” last week and seemed more at home than she has in years. She was comfortable and deft and never struck a strident or snide tone. She seems to have settled in to her new role as congresswoman after years in Carson City. But if anyone thinks her vote against one aspect of health care reform means she doesn’t support a public option, think again. She gave a full-throated defense of the public option and other elements President Barack Obama has talked about and urged him to say specifically what he supports and go forward, with or without GOP support. Titus also derided the “death panel” canard and other criticisms of reform. As for a town hall, she was less sure there. Maybe, she said. Twice."
