U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan is scheduled to visit the Clark County School District Wednesday.
Duncan will tour Harley Harmon Elementary School in Las Vegas and take part in a “Listening and Learning” forum with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Congresswomen Shelley Berkley and Dina Titus.
During his visit Duncan is also expected to make a grant announcement, according to information provided by the U.S. Education Department. Earlier in the day he will participate in a tele-conference related to a competitive grant program for schools that receive additional federal Title I dollars, which help students from low-income households.
This will be Duncan’s first visit to the Clark County School District since being appointed education secretary earlier this year.
