Garrison Keillor to speak at UNLV

A Prairie Home Companion’ host to speak Sept. 23

Garrison Keillor, author and host of public radio’s “A Prairie Home Companion,” has postponed his Sept. 23 at UNLV as a result of a recent mild stroke.

The voice of Lake Woebegon is heading to Las Vegas.

Garrison Keillor, the host of American Public Media's "A Prairie Home Companion," will speak Sept. 23 at UNLV as part of the university's Barrick Lecture Series.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will be at 7:30 p.m. at Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall at UNLV.

Tickets for faculty, staff and students will be available starting Sept. 2. Tickets for the general public will be available starting Sept. 5, according to Afsha Bawany, UNLV public affairs specialist.

There is a limit of two tickets per person. Tickets can be picked up at the UNLV Performing Arts Center box office, located off Cottage Grove Avenue at S. Maryland Parkway.
