Why can’t they all get along? State lawmakers don’t trust the governor — well-earned. And Gov. Jim Gibbons thinks the Democrats controlling Carson City are partisan — well-earned. And caught in the middle is the little matter of $2.2 billion, stuck in limbo because legislative Democrats don’t have any confidence that Ø will hire someone competent to administer the funding, and The Man Formerly Known as Governor believes the lawmakers are making an unwarranted incursion into executive branch authority. So who do you think the public will blame if all this squabbling, which resulted in an executive order Friday, slows down the money getting to where it is supposed to go? All of them, I’d guess.
