Las Vegas will get a little relief from normal triple-digit temperatures today, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service says the Las Vegas Valley will be sunny and hot this afternoon, but the high temperatures will reach only 98 degrees. The normal high for today's date is 102 degrees and the record high was 111, set in 2002.
What's keeping temperatures slightly lower is an area of low pressure moving across the northern Great Basin today that is bringing a cold front as far south as southern Nevada, forecasters said.
The weather service's forecast calls for tonight's skies to be clear with the low dropping to 76 degrees.
Temperatures become warmer Sunday, with the high climbing to 101 degrees.
The high will climb to 103 on both Monday and Tuesday, forecasters said.
