Obama care would enable Big Brother

Patricia van Betten, in her letter published Sunday, says we cannot reduce the federal deficit without health care reform. I do not believe that. Maybe the government, instead, might want to quit spending money on so many insane programs.

I say that health care reform, as proposed by the Obama administration, is not about health care at all. It’s about control — the government controlling its citizens. This sends chills up and down my spine. It is downright scary.

Heaven help us if we end up with a single-payer system for health care. My sister is a registered nurse and she is extremely opposed to this type of “reform.”

I wonder how thoroughly supporters of Obama-style health care reform have read what is being proposed by some members of Congress. I’ve read enough of it to know that if those proposals come to pass, they will be a way for the government to control what should be our own, personal health care.

When I reach age 65 in another three years or so, I’ll not be submitting to any counseling. My health or lack thereof is none of the government’s business.

I agree that something needs to be done about the health industry, but what President Obama supports is going too far.
