Work on Interstate 15 will require the closure of the Carey Avenue bridge in North Las Vegas for three months.

Carey Avenue will be closed from Losee Road to Donna Street beginning Aug. 27.

During the closure, motorists can use Cheyenne Avenue or Lake Mead Boulevard as an alternative.

The closure is part of a $240 million widening of I-15 from the Spaghetti Bowl to Craig Road. Construction began in September 2007 and is expected to end next fall.

Other closures in the construction area remain scheduled as previously announced. For a complete list, visit the project’s Web site.

Sewer work

The Clark County Water Reclamation District has changed the lane restrictions for the ongoing sewer work near the UNLV campus.

Work on Harmon Avenue and Koval Lane began in July and is affecting traffic 24 hours a day while the district relines pipes in the area.

Until the end of August, travel lanes on Harmon have been moved to the north side of the road and one lane in each direction is closed through the intersection with Koval.

On Koval Lane, lanes have shifted to the west side of the road, and one lane in each direction is closed through the intersection.

During the month of September, one lane in each direction will be closed on Harmon from Kishner Drive to Audrie Street and one lane in each direction will be closed on Koval from Tompkins Avenue to Harmon.
