FLASHPOINT:
Bipartisan event? Hardly
Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009 | 2:01 a.m.
The delegation isn’t holding live town halls during the August recess, but talk show rabble-rouser Heidi Harris is. Unlike the congressfolk, Harris has no fear of the protesters, so she doesn’t have to hide behind the “tele-town hall” alternative. She is advertising the Friday event as nonpartisan, but I bet a few Democrats are wondering just how nonpartisan it will be. Harris is very conservative and outspoken, occasionally on national cable shows. The event also is being promoted by the GOP and is occurring at Stoney’s Rockin’ Country, a bar owned by state Republican Party Chairwoman Sue Lowden’s stepson. So it’s not officially a GOP event, but my guess is Shelley Berkley, Harry Reid and Dina Titus might not feel so welcome.

Groundbreaking...
Stoney's also happens to be very large, and smack dab in the middle of the Vegas metro, but knowing the owners does cut down on costs...
by the way, nonpartisan in this instance refers to not declaring party affiliation or that others should vote for one party or another, so yes, while it may have a conservative bias, it very well may be nonpartisan at the same time.
I don't hear Heidi Harris often, but I am getting the impression she is going the way of Ann Coulter. Maybe she is hoping to join Rush Limbaugh in a nationally syndicated show so the Republicans can have another radio host give a slanted view on many issues. The Republican influence on this town hall seems suspiciously one sided. Of course that is my opinion and I could be wrong.
