WEATHER:

Las Vegas temperature to hit 105

Thunderstorms to start moving into western Arizona

Temperatures will be slightly above normal today, with mostly clear skies for the Las Vegas Valley, according to the National Weather Service.

The forecast calls for today's high to be near 105 degrees, which is two degrees above the normal for today's date of 103. The record high is 115, set in 1937.

While the valley will be hot and dry, some storms could move in to Mojave County in western Arizona today, the weather service said.

Forecasters said a moist southerly air flow moving over northwest Arizona will produce isolated to scattered thunderstorms today and Thursday across Mojave County.

Then a dry southwest flow over the rest of the region will push moisture to the east Friday and bring a return of breezy conditions and a cooling trend for the weekend, the weather service said.
