Our government is helping people incur a new debt; the house has been foreclosed on, so let’s trade in the older car for a new model — and new payments. The trade-in might not fit the definition of “clunker,” but it will when dismantled and sent to the salvage or junkyard.
Here’s an idea — let’s build a large parking lot and give every homeless person or family a “clunker” to live in and have a roof over their heads. Call it “Clunker City.”
You can lock the doors, start the car and have air conditioning in summer and heat in winter. A trunk is better than a shopping cart. Reclining seats or seats that fold down make a good bed. Sure beats a tent or cardboard box.
We’ve all read stories about people living in their cars. Here’s our chance to “make it happen” for more people.
Or, how about spending a billion on the homeless? Any FEMA trailers out there?
