Eighty-Three Dollar Cove
The National Park Service ended a search Sunday night for a California man presumed drowned in Lake Mohave.
Authorities received a report at 3:11 p.m. of a possible drowning near Eighty-Three Dollar Cove involving a 50-year-old man from Lawndale, Calif. Park rangers and Nevada Department of Wildlife game wardens began a search of the area.
The Park Service said witnesses reported the man jumped into the water to retrieve a lost hat. He went under the water and never came back up. He wasn't wearing a life jacket, authorities said.
The search will resume Monday morning. The man's name wasn't being released Sunday night pending notification of family.
