Two arrested in shooting of liquor store clerk

Store clerk found dead

Police have arrested two suspects after a liquor store clerk was found dead late last night in eastern Las Vegas.

Metro Police officers arrived at the store on Pearlite Avenue, near Tropicana and U.S. 95, about 11:30 p.m. Friday and found the clerk dead behind the counter with multiple gunshot wounds.

Homicide detectives arrested Antonio Duenas, 24, and Michael Cruz, 24, at 4 a.m. for murder with a deadly weapon, burglary with a deadly weapon, attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Cruz was taken to the Clark County Detention Center, while Duenas was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries, which were not specified by police.

The identity of the clerk will be released by the coroner’s office.
