Time flies when you're having a great time and you won't have a greater time in Vegas than seeing "Jersey Boys," the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.
The bio-musical celebrates its first anniversary on at the Palazzo Sunday, May 3.
In honor of the show’s first anniversary, the cast of "Jersey Boys" will present a medley of songs in a live performance in support of Race for the Cure at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, May 2 on the 3rd Street Stage of the Fremont Street Experience.
"Jersey Boys," which opened on Broadway Nov. 6, 2005, continues to play to sold-out audiences. It received the Tony Award for Best Musical and the 2006 Grammy Award for Best Musical Recording, which was certified Gold by the RIAA in February, and is regularly found at the top of the Billboard chart of best-selling show CDs.
The musical is the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi. It's a story of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they reached the age of 30. The show features such hits as “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” “Oh, What a Night,” and many more.
"Jersey Boys" was written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio and lyrics by Bob Crewe. The Las Vegas production is staged by the entire original Broadway creative team, led by director Des McAnuff and choreographer Sergio Trujillo. The scenic design is by Klara Zieglerova, costume design by Jess Goldstein, lighting by Howell Binkley, sound by Steve Canyon Kennedy and projections design by Michael Clark. The orchestrations are by Steve Orich and the music direction and vocal arrangements by Ron Melrose.
The production is presented by original Broadway producers Dodger Theatricals, Joseph Grano, Tamara and Kevin Kinsella, Pelican Group and BASE Entertainment ("Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular") in association with Latitude Link and Rick Steiner.
With top accommodations, first-rate entertainment, high-end shopping and a slew of acclaimed chefs, the Palazzo has positioned itself as one of the most luxurious resorts on the Strip.
More than 3,000 all-suite rooms start at 740 square feet and are decorated in a modern, yet classic, Italian style. Each room features a sleeping area, with a king or two queens, and a sunken living room area with floor to ceiling windows.
A cathedral ceiling tops the Palazzo casino, while a second 80-foot dome brings natural light to the property's lobby. The 105,000 square foot casino features more than 2,000 slots and 80 table games but lacks the stale smell of cigarettes, as the property is LEED certified with smoking off limits in most of the Palazzo — including 50 percent of the casino floor.
Dining at the Palazzo is among the best of the Strip, starting with Wolfgang Puck's CUT. Chef Simon To serves up authentic Chinese cuisine at Zine, while Sushisamba combines Brazilian and Peruvian flavors with Japanese techniques. At LAVO, club-goers can dine on Mediterranean dishes before heading upstairs to the bath house-inspired nightclub.
