Steve Wynn to put Las Vegas in ‘60 Minutes’ spotlight again
Thursday, April 9, 2009 | 2:40 p.m.
For the second Sunday in a row, Las Vegas will be featured on the prime-time news magazine show, "60 Minutes." Steve Wynn will be the focus of this Sunday's show, which is described in a press release:
"Steve Wynn--The casino mogul most responsible for taking Las Vegas to new heights of gaming and glitter talks to Charlie Rose about his spectacular success and the eye disease that's slowly robbing him of his ability to see the fruits of his labor."
Last Sunday, the show included a segment focused on University Medical Center’s closure of its outpatient oncology clinic in response to state cuts in Medicaid funding.

It's good Steve won't be able to see all those alimony dollars that will be deposited into his soon-to-be-again-ex-wife's bank account. Fool him once, shame on her. Fool him twice, shame on Steve.
Wynn has always pushed the envelope with his properties, service levels, and the carrying of the LV torch. True he goofed big time with the dealers tokes (either he was ill advised or he doesn't "get it") but he is an excellent spokesperson for the industry and the city.
Las vegas needs Mr Wynn, and its indeed not the other way around! It will be a very sad day when he pulls up stakes, and leaves!
This jerkoff needs to go!!
"This jerkoff needs to go!!"
The only jerkoff that needs to go is YOU, vegasj!
Is Steve catching his second Wynn?
They say divorce will set you free but wow...
Consecutive days this week on Face-to-Face and now 60-minutes, what's really driving all the recent media exposure Steve?
thanks lv willy......
David001 you said it!
Mr. Wynn is one of the few people who has expressed a better, practical way to turn around the Local and National economy
We know all the who's, why's, and how's as to the Man-Made cause of this financial ruination, as well as the In Plain Site anticipation of it's coming.
There are no absolute ideals where methods to make corrections for a turnaround, however, we do know the Time-Proven methods there are to lead us into a turnaround.
Near the end of the Bush Adm., we knew throwing Stimulus Checks at Americans was an almost pointless thing to do, just as Bail-Out money paid in 2008, and still again in 2009.
The priority is the AMERICAN ECONOMY, WORKERS, AND PEOPLE, NOT strengthening any party, as each major party has taken its share of steps to do so, just as history has shown in the three scandals prior to this Easy-Money scandal from the 80's to the present.
The only two properties that I know of that took more practical approaches in business in light of the current market conditions, is Mr. Wynn, and the PH, with their reinvent, restyle, and refurbish, with more of a stay-open & pay-as-you-go style in successfully changing it's identity.
Correct me if I'm wrong, both have been effected by current market conditions, but each is better off than the majority.
Now, let's move forward because "It's always a New Day." Why? Because "We Can."
