County open to suggestions for budget

Do you think the intersection near your home could use a traffic signal, or the vacant lot down the street would make a good park?

Now is the time to make your suggestions known.

Clark County is seeking public input for its budgets for the 2009 fiscal year.

Citizens may make their recommendations to the town advisory board in their respective areas.

Liaison for the Enterprise Town Advisory Board, Mike Shannon, said the recommendations will be compiled during the boards' meetings and submitted to the county.

The county will take the suggestions and try to incorporate some of them into the appropriate department's budget.

Examples of suggestions given last year include requests to pave portions of certain roads, requests for traffic lights or four-way stops and requests for a trail system.

Suggestions will be taken at the next Paradise Town Advisory Board meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Paradise Community Center, 4775 McLeod Drive.

In the Silverado area, the Paradise Township encompasses the area between Bermuda Road and Eastern Avenue and Warm Springs Road and Silverado Ranch Boulevard.

Residents living between Interstate 15 and Bermuda Road south of Warm Springs Road or in the triangle formed by St. Rose Parkway and Silverado Ranch Boulevard are in the Enterprise Township.

To make their suggestions, they may attend the town advisory board meeting at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Enterprise Library, 25 E. Shelbourne Ave.
