Beyond the Sun
Volunteers are encouraged to assist with a clean-up effort on the beach at Lake Mead on Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The effort is sponsored by Henderson-based Internet retailer Zappos.com and Ocean Minded Inc., a California-based shoe company. Gloves, bags, litter sticks and other cleanup materials will be provided by the park service. Zappos.com will supply water and a light snack.
Interested volunteers should call the Lake Mead National Recreation Area at 702/293-8711 or 702/293-8717 to sign up and to receive additional information about where to gather.
