The Clark County Election Department is reminding residents today that requests for mail ballots for the Nov. 4 election must be received by Tuesday.
Mail ballots are for voters who don't want to participate in early voting or vote on Election Day. Mail ballot requests must be renewed every year a voter choses to vote by mail.
“Voters who will be unable to get to a polling place during early voting or on Nov. 4 should immediately request a mail ballot so they can participate in this important election,” county registrar Larry Lomax said in a statement.
Election officials said voters shouldn't depend on the mail to get their ballot requests in on time. Requests received after 5 p.m. Tuesday won't be accepted.
Voters are encouraged to personally deliver or fax their mail ballot request forms to one of the election department offices. The department’s offices are at the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway, and the Clark County Election Center, 965 Trade Drive, Suite A, in North Las Vegas. The offices are open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The election department fax number is 455-2831.
Early voting ends Oct. 31. Visit the election department Web site for additional information.
