Inside Angel’s crammed diary as Believe Countdown reaches Day 7
Friday, Oct. 24, 2008 | 12:29 p.m.
There are just seven days left on our countdown to Criss Angel’s world premiere of his new Cirque du Soleil Believe magical mystery show at the Luxor. Just how much work goes into a $100-million production as it gets ready to be unveiled to the theater-going crowds? Just how fit does the star have to keep himself for the rigorous twice-nightly performances?
Well, Luxe Life has all the answers, thanks to an intimate peek inside his daily diary now that show days are fitting into a regular routine. Now everybody knows that Criss is a little nocturnal, and can often be found relaxing in our restaurants, nightclubs and lounges after the curtain comes down.
But as the first diary entry shows -- he’s religious about starting every day at the same time with what, for me, would be a super-human physical fitness workout! Maybe that’s why he is such an imposing and imperial illusionist?
7 a.m.: Wake-Up and get ready for the day. (whatever time he called it a night)
8 a.m.: In the gym -- minimum two-hour workout! (Exercise routines, weight training- might extend to three hours!)
11 a.m.: Working one-hour lunch. Business meetings. Strategize MF 13 clothing line and merchandizing. Season 5 Mindfreak shows pre- and post-production meetings.
Noon: Four hours of Believe rehearsals and run-throughs. Introduce new scenes and sequences.
4 p.m.; Show preparations. Interviews. Meet and Greet.
6 p.m.: Light dinner -- pre-show massage.
7 p.m.: First Believe show.
10 p.m.: Second Believe show.
Midnight: Unwind. (Cathouse? LAX?)
Luxe Life will be back on Monday with our Luxor president’s interview as we reach Day 5 of our Criss Countdown: Felix Rappaport has bet and bankrolled $100 million-plus on the success of Believe.
