IRS trying to give $4 million back to Nevadans

Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008 | 3:12 p.m.

Returning the money

The Internal Revenue Service has more than $4 million in returned economic stimulus and refund checks due to Nevadans, the agency reported.

Of that, 85 percent are checks sent to people in Clark County and later returned to the IRS by the Postal Service as undeliverable.

That amounts to about 4,200 checks, or $3.16 million.

The average economic stimulus check due Nevadans is $606; the average refund is $1,090.

If a taxpayer is due some of this money, all they have to do is update their address by visiting irs.gov and following the links to claim your economic stimulus or tax refund check.
