Criss Countdown – Day 9: Tickets selling as well as Love, new illusion added to finale
Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008 | 2:35 p.m.
Day 9 of our countdown, and we can accurately report that ticket sales for Mindfreak magician Criss Angel’s new Believe show are selling equal to the rival blockbuster Cirque du Soleil/Beatles show, Love spectacle at The Mirage -– and ahead of the competing KA stunner at MGM Grand Grand.
Tickets for the show are reportedly selling six months in advance. In addition to the high demand, the one remaining major incredible illusion has now just been worked into the finale -- as originally planned -- and Criss no longer has to sing the Mindfreak song for fans to bring the show to time. I’m reliably told that the all-new closing magic piece is sensational, is working perfectly and has preview audiences amazed and stunned.
ays Criss: “This collaboration with Cirque du Soleil is beyond my wildest dreams.” Director and co-writer Serge Denoncourt added: “Currently in this creation process, we feel as playful and excited as children in a gigantic toy store. We are bringing magic into a new realm.”
Real reviews from theater critics will come out after the world premiere, and any reports from the previews should be ignored, as it is “a work in progress” right up until the official opening night.
Tomorrow, on Day 8 of our countdown, Luxe Life has an exclusive chat with Playboy supermodel and Girls Next Door star Holly Madison, who spills all the secrets about her new love life as a single-girl “ on the loose’ again.” Holly and Criss have been seen together again at the Cathouse in the Luxor as a hand-holding kissing couple -- and I got to meet up with Holly last night (Tuesday) at LAVO in the Palazzo. She was on the outdoor patio/hookah-smoking terrace waiting to meet up with Criss for a second consecutive night! CLICK HERE for our breaking story yesterday of their reunion romance!
