A pedestrian was critically injured in the eastern valley this morning after he stepped into the path of a vehicle, Metro Police said.
Authorities responded at 8:42 a.m. to the collision on Nellis Boulevard just north of Van Buren Avenue. Police said the pedestrian, identified as Larry Hollenbeck, 67, of Las Vegas, suddenly entered the southbound lanes of Nellis Boulevard and was struck by a 1996 Isuzu Rodeo.
Hollenbeck was taken to University Medical Center with critical injuries, police said.
The driver of the Isuzu, Janet Misch, 44, of Las Vegas, wasn't injured. Misch was the only occupant of the vehicle.
The Metro Police Accident Investigation Section is continuing to investigate the collision.
