From February through August, presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama raised about the same amount in Nevada, just shy of $1 million for each campaign. Figuring in money transferred from the nominees’ affiliated fundraising committees, McCain surpassed Obama by more than $200,000. Both campaigns have watched the wave of donations rise toward a crest ahead of next month’s election, though McCain has done markedly better in Nevada since April.
