Long lines in Clark County delay ballot counting

CARSON CITY -- Long lines of voters in Clark and Nye counties have delayed the counting of the ballots in Nevada.

The counties cannot begin to tally their votes until the polls are closed statewide.

Deputy Secretary of State Matt Griffin said those waiting in line at 7 p.m., the hour at which the polls are scheduled to closed, are allowed to vote.

Griffin estimated the counting of ballots should begin by 8 p.m.
