A man checking on a friend's pets Monday found their owner, a 32-year-old Henderson man, dead in his home, the Henderson Police Department said Tuesday. Police are investigating the death as a homicide.
The victim's friend went to the man's home in the 700 block of Solitude Point Avenue, which is near Horizon Ridge Parkway and Gibson Road, at about 3 p.m. Monday to care for the pets because the victim was scheduled to be out of town, authorities said. The friend found the man unresponsive and called 911. Police said paramedics arrived and found no obvious cause of death.
An autopsy on Tuesday confirmed the death was a homicide. The cause of death is not being released because of the ongoing investigation.
Anyone with information is being urged to call Henderson police at 267-4750. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
