Growing up in the small community of Rodeo, Calif., Eric Lynch had no idea he would reach such great heights.

The 3-foot-5 enigma has found himself a comic foil to 6-foot-5 Howard Stern, the shock jock on Sirius radio who has a posse of outcasts and misfits affectionately known as the Wack Pack, composed of an odd assortment of characters such as High Pitch Eric, Crackhead Bob, Beetle Juice and Jeff the Drunk.

Lynch is Eric the Midget, a title he doesn’t like but accepts because it has brought him fame and opened a few doors.

“I’m looking for acting work,” he stressed during a telephone interview from his home in Sacramento.

Without the Stern connection, it’s unlikely the 33-year-old Lynch would be one of the celebrity guests on hand for the debut of Perry Mann’s Exotic Erotic Strippers and Hustlers Ball at the Orleans Arena this weekend.

Lynch will mingle with fans and strippers and sign autographs and talk about the Howard Stern show and his love-hate relationship with the show’s star.

The Strippers Ball will be a new experience for Lynch.

More small talk

Little person comedian Tanyalee Davis returns to the stage this weekend after taking three months off to recuperate from spinal surgery.

“I might have to drive a scooter to the side of the stage and hoist myself onto the chair,” said the 3-foot-6 comic, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and a Las Vegan for the past four years. “But I’m ready.”

Davis will perform at the L.A. Comedy Club at Trader Vic’s.

“Mentally, this is so good for me,” the 37-year-old Davis said. “I’m very excited. I need to get back onstage. Not being onstage affects me emotionally and I’m not nice to be around.”

In early June she was operated on for a degenerative disease of the spine and spent five weeks in a rehab center. She has been recuperating at home since July 3.

Free concert

Jessica Marciel, Michael Shane and the Metropolitan Club Orchestra will perform a free concert at 6 p.m. Sunday in the Manhattan Ballroom at Bugsy’s Supper Club, 6145 W. Sahara Ave. (at Jones Boulevard).

Low-end concert

Renowned bass players Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller and Victor Wooten will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Texas Station Events Center. Tickets are $30.50 to $45.50. For information, call 631-1000 or go to texasstation.com.

“SMV — The Thunder Tour” features the first album created by the trio of bassists.

“We wanted to make a bass record with a sound that would be somewhat unexpected to the listener,” Clarke said. “The biggest hurdle was to make a record with three basses — very low-end instruments, by definition — that would still be as musical as possible, and I think we achieved that.”
