Letter to the editor:
Ron Paul’s backers won’t back down
Wednesday, April 30, 2008 | 2:02 a.m.
So state Sen. Bob Beers, who was chairman of the Republican state convention last weekend, shut down the convention because the time had run out on the room at the Peppermill in Reno? If the GOP didn’t have the funds, certainly Mitt Romney could have forked over a bit of his masses to pay for the room for a few more hours if they truly believed they could win support for Sen. John McCain and really wanted to get it wrapped up!
I know, as a staunch Ron Paul supporter, we would have gladly chipped in to foot the bill. The truth is, the McCain-supportive GOP saw that Ron Paul was winning, so they picked up their toys and went home to regroup and come back and fight at a later date. As a cautionary measure, I would like to tell them to “be afraid be very afraid” because we are out there and we plan on going to Minnesota for the Republican National Convention.
And for all those who are contemplating voting for Ralph Nader or some other party in the event Ron Paul isn’t chosen as the GOP’s nominee, and because they refuse to vote for John McCain, let me remind all of them that Nevada does allow write-in votes, so I urge you to write in Ron Paul.

Actually, Senator Bob Beers told me he was very impressed by Dr. Paul. I am a Ron Paul supporter and know Bob quite well. He is a Liberatarian Republican and is the closest thing we have to
a Libertarian in the Senate. I'm just waiting to
see if the Mack gives them free time to complete their vote like they did the Dems!
RON PAUL ROCKS AND SO DOES SENATOR BOB BEERS!!
Yeah, Bob Beers rocks! He's the only accountant I know who shies away from saving money, and instead wants to spend it!
We had somewhere north of 300 million that the state could've socked away in a savings account, earning a nice interest rate, but NO! Beers spent it all! And now look, we're broke.
Thanks Bob Beers!
I do not know Mr Beers, but it would seem to me some 'splaining' is in order. Everyone who made it out of kindergarten knows right from wrong, and fair and unfair treatment. Unless someone explains it to me, I think it was a sham recess to prevent a Ron Paul win! It gives me hope to see such tactics used against us, because I know we are too smart, too organizied, and too motivated to allow these tactics to win out in the long run. Remember America, the long run it what counts!
Go buy Dr. Ron Paul's book that was released today, 'Revolution' and tell the bookstore manager (as I did) that they better order some more. Dr. Paul went to a book signing in NYC and all 525 copies were sold out BEFORE HE GOT THERE!

Plezzzzzzzzzzzzzz...stop with whinning about "unfair" tatics.
Ron Paulers are trying to screw over the Nevada Republican voters who only give Ron Paul 14% of the vote.
If anything is unfair, it is the fact that Nevada will probably not be properly respresented in the national convention because of the Ron Paulers.
I think that it is the republicrats like you ^ to get your brain in gear and see that the way to save our country is the ron paul way
I didn't support Mr. Paul at my caucus, but why should Nevada support a candidate that never came to our state to campaign, because Republican party leaders tell us to? McCain didn't even come to the convention. At least the Paul supporters have a candidate that cares enough to learn about us. What is un-American is to shut out qualified candidates. To vote for someone I don't believe will represent my concerns because I'm told to is to give up one of my most precious rights. I admire the people who stand up for change. Besides, Mr. Paul made a very impressive arguement for liberty and sound money at the convention.
Ron Paul gained more support in the Nevada caucuses than McCain, so now that Romney is out it would make sense that the majority of the delegates would be awarded to him.
