Letter: Why Blackwater is a black eye for U.S.
Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007 | 1:30 a.m.
Outsourcing security in Iraq to the group known as Blackwater, "killers" of the innocent, is yet another criminal activity attributed to the mentality of the sick and twisted infamous trio - Vice President Dick Cheney, former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and President Bush.
I do not imply that those working for Blackwater deserve the title of soldiers. Rather, they are a feeble "imitation" of the characters in the movie "Dirty Dozen." This cadre might have been unleashed to find and annihilate Osama bin Laden and Co. rather than kill innocent Iraqis.
In my estimation, sanctioning wanton killers as a legitimate group, aiding the war effort, leaves a stench in the nostrils of Americans and in those we consider friendly neighbors in the world. It would seem apparent to me that Americans are weary of illicit governmental actions that decry honesty and openness. Blackwater tarnishes the nobility of our troops serving honorably in Iraq and dying there.
