Letter: Heartfelt thanks to Nevadans who serve

Thanks to Mary Manning for her March 18 story on Marine 2nd Lt. James J. Cathey. My family has not been touched personally by this war, but I am very grateful to those who serve and to the families who have had to make the ultimate sacrifice.

The story in the Las Vegas Sun helped to make this war and the resulting casualties very personal - and the accompanying Todd Heisler photo makes me cry every time I look at it.

I also read each of the biographies the Sun posted on the Nevadans we have lost in this war and said a prayer for their families. It is the very least I can do.
